Course Title: Makaton Level 2
Course length 6 hrs

This course is recommended for anyone who has completed Makaton Level 1 or day 1 (modules 1 and 2) of the Beginners Workshop. Certificate of attendance required as proof.
The Makaton Level 2 workshop is made up of 2 x 3hr modules which can be delivered as a full day or over 2 separate sessions.

The course is delivered by an experienced practitioner and registered Makaton Regional Tutor who has a wealth of experience in supporting Makaton users and practitioners in health and social care settings as well as domestic settings with family members.
Learning Outcome & Assessment Criteria
Makaton Level 2
Learning the signs and symbols for stages 3-4 and part of the additional core vocabulary. Assessment is ongoing as delegate’s signing skills develop.
Research support around sign and symbol use.
Hints and tips for effective signing
How to draw Makaton symbols and use them to support communication.
Teaching procedures.
Practical applications of Makaton.
