This course is aimed at all staff supporting individuals with hearing and sight impairment or loss.
This course provides an introduction for staff in meeting the needs of those individuals having sight impairment or loss and to those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Identify what is meant by sensory impairment – deafness, blindness and deaf blindness.
Discuss the commonly used terminologies to describe sensory loss.
How an acquired sensory impairment can affect individuals.

Identify how changes can be made to the way you work to adapt to the needs of the individual.

At the end of the training session, there is a written assessment to evidence the learning of the attendees.
