Course Title: Sex and Sexuality

This course is aimed at all care staff.

This course follows the guidance from CQC on Relationships and Sexuality in Adult Social Care Services.

At the end of the training session, there is a short-written assessment to evidence the learning of the attendees.

When should providers assess a person’s sexual needs?

Discuss sexuality and relationships

Equality and Diversity and Human Rights (EDHR)

Discuss EDHR in relation to sexuality and relationships

Support for individuals

Best interest assessment in relation to a person’s consent to sex

Discuss how to support individuals with a physical disability

Discuss how to support individuals accessing dating services

Sexual Disinhibition

Understand the term sexual disinhibition

Discuss how to support individuals exhibiting sexual disinhibition

Understand responses to unwanted sexual behaviour

Consent

Discuss assessing capacity to consent to sexual relations

Sexuality and relationships within key lines of enquiry (KLOE)

Discuss questions that should be asked.
