Who We Are

Home Instead Maidstone Virtual Dementia Tour

Rated 'Outstanding' by the Care Quality Commission, Home Instead Maidstone provides care and support to allow individuals to lead fulfilled lives in safe and familiar surroundings where they feel most comfortable.  We strive to help our clients maintain their independence, health and vibrancy in their later years.

Our Work in the Community

Home Instead has a passion to join in and be involved in the wider community. We host a monthly memory café with the Kenward Trust, this is an inclusive group that welcomes people with dementia or memory issues including their friends, family and carers.  It is a chance to socialise and connect with others.  We have provided free dementia training to Kent Community Wardens, community dementia workshops and regularly attend local events and provide free resources via our strong network.

Why We're Hosting the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus

As part of our commitment to raising awareness and understanding of dementia, we have decided to host the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus. We want more of our Care Professionals to understand the challenges people with dementia face. We are passionate about working with other organisations to support our clients with dementia and we are delighted to be able to invite them to come along to the experience.

The Virtual Dementia Tour Bus provides a unique and impactful opportunity for our employees and other professionals within our community to see first-hand what it's like to live with dementia. This level of training, which allows participants to put themselves in someone else's shoes, is invaluable and not something we get to showcase every day.

We are so excited to host the Virtual Dementia Tour Bus and provide our team, other professionals and people within the community with this eye-opening experience. It is our hope that this initiative will create greater understanding, empathy and support for those living with dementia and their loved ones.
