At Home Instead Bath and West Wiltshire we value empathy above all else when understanding the needs of our clients. Getting to know our clients and understanding what they are feeling and experiencing is central in providing the best care to keep them safe in their own homes.
We are extremely excited to announce that we are hosting The Virtual Dementia Tour Bus during the afternoon of Wednesday 28th August. This provides an opportunity for a mobile tour designed to raise awareness and understanding of the challenges faced by those living with dementia.
Dementia is, unfortunately, a common condition especially amongst the elderly generation and one we face every day at Home Instead. Unlike physical disability or frailness which is clearly understood and catered for with the right care, dementia is typically less well understood.
In addition to the Accredited City and Guilds Dementia Training we provide our staff; this interactive training is an opportunity for our Care Professionals and other professionals in our community and family members to experience first-hand this powerful experience of being the in shoes of someone living with dementia.
The support we provide to each client is individual and tailor made to their needs. This experience will help enhance the support to all our dementia clients by helping us understand what it’s like for them. We are not there to take over, but there to support and help our clients maintain their independence and to get the best out of their life.
Alison and Nick opened the Bath and West Wiltshire office in 2011 after a personal experience of providing care for Alison’s father. They have helped many 100s of clients over the years with the support of their dedicated office team, and their caring and well-trained Care Professionals.
As well as dementia support, we provide meal support, shopping, light housework, live-in care, night care, social outings, personal care, and end of life care.
Each Home Instead office is independently owned and operated. We are all held to a high standard by our National Office quality and compliance inspections and regulated by the Care Quality Commission.
