Course Description:
Aseptic Technique is used by health care staff, in various care settings, that is used to prevent the spread of harmful micro-organisms which can lead to infection. The course aims to help you understand the meaning of aseptic technique, how to avoid contamination of a sterile field, be able to define sterile, and understand Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT).

What you will learn on this course:
Introduction: Understand the principles of aseptic technique including rationale for using a sterile field. Discuss Aseptic Non-Touch Technique (ANTT). Discuss examples where aseptic procedure would be indicated.
Practical session: Provide the opportunity to practice the aseptic procedure.
At the end of the training session, there is a written assessment to evidence the learning of the attendees.
