This course is aimed at all staff supporting individuals with hearing and sight impairment or loss.

This course provides an introduction for staff in meeting the needs of those individuals having sight impairment or loss and to those who are deaf or hard of hearing.

Discuss the commonly used terminologies to describe sensory loss.

Identify how changes can be made to the way you work to adapt to the needs of the individual.

The use of effective communication tactics to improve interaction with and care for those who have sensory impairments.

At the end of the training session, there is a written assessment to evidence the learning of the attendees.
