Diagnosing a Learning Disability
Explain how a learning disability is diagnosed
Identify the signs that a child might have a learning disability
Describe how social or adaptive dysfunction can affect a person with a learning disability
Understand the difference between mild, moderate and profound learning disabilities
Explain how a learning disability can occur
Signs and Symptoms
Understand why sight problems are common among people with a learning disability
Explain how to identify signs and symptoms that a person might have sight problems
Communication
Identify different methods of communication
Describe why positive communication is important for people with learning disabilities
Identify barriers to effective communication

Explain what is meant by the term person centred care
